On Jan. 28 at approximately 6:22 a.m., the Glendale Police Dept. AB 109 Task Force conducted a probation compliance check in the 9000 block of Lanark Street in Sun Valley. Glendale officers were conducting a compliance check involving Andrey Arutyunyan, a known Armenian Power gang member and currently on probation for a narcotics violation. In 2015, Arutyunyan was contacted in the City of Glendale and issued a citation for possessing drug paraphernalia.

At the residence, the officers contacted Armen Simonyan, Michael Petrosian and Marine Petroisan. All three individuals were detained pending further investigation. During the compliance check, officers discovered an elaborate indoor marijuana grow in a converted garage.

Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered over 200 marijuana plants, cash, packaging materials and five pounds of packaged marijuana. In addition, officers recovered a loaded pistol grip shotgun and a 40mm loaded handgun.

A search of Simonyan revealed he was in possession of fraudulent identification and credit cards as well as other items related to identity theft.

All three suspects were arrested for cultivation, drug sales, and identity theft and fraud violations.

The Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power (LADWP) responded to the residence and confirmed excessive use of electricity. The electricity was disconnected due to a $4,000 pending payment and illegal electrical work.

Glendale officers located evidence indicating Arutyunyan had ties to the residence; however, he was not present at the time of the investigation.

The marijuana grow was dismantled and items of evidence were collected by the Glendale Police Dept. for further investigation.
