Frances Ellerman

Frances Ellerman passed away on Feb. 2 in Glendale at the age of 104. She was born on Jan. 31, 1912 to American parents homesteading in Alberta, Canada.

At the age of 9, her family moved to Southern California.

Her husband Martin “Dee” Ellerman predeceased her by 36 years. They bought their home in the Sparr Heights area of Glendale in 1941.

She is survived by her daughter Lana Smith and husband Richard of Rosemead, granddaughter Lori Corbin of Glendale, and her grandson Paul Corbin and wife Nicole of Rancho Cucamonga. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed being a homemaker, an artist and an interior decorator. At the age of 77, she and her daughter drove her motorhome across the country to see her childhood home in Nebraska, then to Washington, D.C. and New England to see the fall colors.

Frances was a very classy lady. She loved beautiful music, lovely landscapes, and appreciated all forms of art. She was always adventurous and very independent.  She will be respectfully and fondly remembered within the hearts of her family and friends.
