The Foothill Auxiliary members worked countless hours to pull the event together.

On Feb. 12 a room at the Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena was full of lovely ladies (and a couple of gentlemen) who were celebrating Valentine’s Day while supporting a worthy cause: AHEAD With Horses Inc. AHEAD With Horses is a non-profit therapeutic riding program that serves children with multiple and severe disabilities, including autism. Its main facility is in Shadow Hills, but clients come from across Los Angeles County.

The Foothill Auxiliary of AHEAD With Horses hosted its annual luncheon at Brookside, which was decorated with red hearts, pictures of the children who will be benefitting from the proceeds and 50 baskets that were in the Chinese auction. All attendees left with full stomachs and smiles on their faces while many took home a beautiful basket filled with all types of goodies and gift certificates that were donated for the event.

This is the third year the group has hosted the event for AHEAD With Horses. Proceeds from the event, which were in excess of $10,000 the last two years, will be dedicated to provide the developmental therapy to the children in the program. Many take their first steps, speak their first words and complete many other milestones never thought possible while in the program.

Those interested in joining the Auxiliary to help with this annual event or those interested in the program can call the office at (818) 767-6373. Donations to AHEAD With Horses can be mailed to AHEAD With Horses,

10157 Johanna Ave., Shadow Hills, CA 91040.
