On March 24 Detectives from the Glendale Police Dept. identified all three suspects responsible for burglarizing and vandalizing four Glendale Unified schools. Two suspects, an adult and a juvenile, have been arrested and the third who is a juvenile is currently being sought.

The investigation began on Saturday, March 12, at approximately 1:45 a.m., when three suspects forced entry to Toll Middle School located at 700 Glenwood Road. They roamed the halls carrying pry bars and hammers. The suspects disabled several security cameras by striking them with a hammer. The suspects forced entry to approximately 20 classrooms and offices where they searched for valuables. Most locked rooms were entered by smashing the door windows and reaching in to open the door. Cash was taken from one office and loss from classrooms is unknown.

The same suspects also burglarized Mark Keppel Elementary School next door between 4:10 a.m. – 4:23 a.m. Approximately four classrooms were broken into on the first floor and cash taken. The same suspects are also responsible for committing the same crime the following week Clark Magnet and Crescenta Valley high schools during the early morning hours of March 22.

Surveillance footage which captured the suspects in the act helped solve the crime. After media coverage on the case, detectives received a tip on one of the suspects who was recognizable. Detectives and crime analysts then searched through his public social media accounts to positively identify the remaining two suspects. A photo posted by one of the suspects depicts him wearing a unique hat that matched to the one he is seen wearing in the surveillance footage at the crime scene.

The adult suspect, identified as 19 year old Christian Padilla from Pasadena remains in custody.
