Boy Scout Troop 317 of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose once again received numerous awards at the Verdugo Hills Council-Spring Camporee, held at the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area in Irwindale March 11-13. The Troop placed third in first aid, second in cooking, first in fire building. Their “Task Force” patrol was given the extreme honor of being the best patrol in the younger division overall.

Boy Scouts Ethan Arellano, Rowan Fitzgerald and David Januzik were led by Patrol Leader Sean Salazar. Scoutmaster David Januzik, ASMs Nate Fitzgerald and Jose Salazar, and the rest of the troop are very proud of these scouts.

The Boy Scout Camporee emphasizes the patrol method and challenges their teamwork and outdoor skills.
