SED Arrest Made

On Tuesday at about 4:52 p.m., officers from Glendale Police Dept.’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) conducted an investigation of a man who was associated with a parked vehicle inside the Public Storage parking lot in the 5500 block of San Fernando Road. Officers were paying extra attention to this area due to recent reported vehicle thefts within the area of the storage facility.

While speaking to the man, officers observed a rifle bag in the back seat of the vehicle. The man allegedly admitted to possessing a firearm. A search of the vehicle revealed a total six firearms inside the vehicle. One was a rifle and the remaining guns were handguns. Three of those handguns were loaded.

In addition to the firearms, the man was in possession of hundreds of rounds of ammunition, illegal knives, an asp, brass knuckles, shaved keys, lock-picking tool kits, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The man was identified as Marthias Nano, 45, of Burbank. He was taken into custody for multiple weapons violations, drug possession and possession of burglary tools.
