Nicholas Cho Earns Eagle Rank

An Eagle Court of Honor was recently held for Nicholas Cho, 14, a ninth grade student at Crescenta Valley High School.

Nicholas joined Troop 303 on March 12, 2012 bridging from Troop 304. He earned a total of five merit badges from the Circle X Summer Camp 2012. That same year he advanced to the rank of Tenderfoot on Dec. 10.

Nicholas went to snow camp at Mt. Pinos and Topock Gorge Canoe trek. He advanced to second class rank in August 2013. He earned four merit badges from Fiesta Island summer camp. He advanced to first class rank on Jan. 21, 2014.

He earned a total of 16 merit badges by this time and attended backpacking trek, whitewater rafting trek and stayed at Camp Silver for week. On July 22, 2014 he advanced to Star. Nicholas was the senior patrol leader as a Star Scout and he went to Emerald Bay summer camp.

He earned the rank of Life Scout on March 3, 2015. Nicholas had earned 38 merit badges at this point. He was the patrol leader for a full year. He showed his leadership by completing his Shortcut Canyon Trail project.

He advanced to the rank of Eagle on Feb. 25. He completed the Eagle required merit badges, and his leadership and service to others were tested through the Eagle Service Project.
