Mark Richard Sanderl, 43, of Glendora, passed away suddenly on April 22. Mark was born on May 19, 1972 to William and Elaine Sanderl in Pasadena. He graduated from La Salle High School in 1990, received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Mary’s College of California in 1994, and earned his master’s degree in educational leadership from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2008. Mark taught computers at Rosemont Middle School in La Crescenta since 2002.
Mark was an inspiring teacher, avid basketball fan and coach, and dedicated mentor for almost 20 years. He was a loving, caring husband and father of two small children. He had a kind, thoughtful, and gentle spirit that made him a welcoming, positive, and reassuring presence to his family, friends, and students.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Liliana; children Andrew, 7, and Julianne, 3; mother Elaine Sanderl; brothers Michael Sanderl and sister-in-law Stacey, and Matthew Sanderl and sister-in-law Amy and their families; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father William Sanderl and sister Lisa Sanderl.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1879 N. Lake Ave., Altadena. In lieu of flowers, the Sanderl family has requested that donations in memory of Mark Sanderl be made to the American Heart Association; La Salle High School, Pasadena; or the organization of your choice.
