Accident on Honolulu

An accident occurred on Wednesday morning on Honolulu and Pennsylvania avenues. A truck described as a “work truck” was traveling eastbound on Honolulu Avenue when it struck the side of a school bus.

“There was a prior collision in the area that created some congestion,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Fan. “The bus’ stop sign had not been [deployed].”

The truck hit, or scraped, the sign.

Fan said the work truck continued without stopping. The supervisor for the school bus company was contacted.

“It was a minor scuff,” Fan said. “The other accident, according to the bus driver, had already occurred and created a situation that could have contributed to the [driver hitting the bus].”

There were no injuries were reported.

A witness said she has concerns about the area because traffic travels “very fast” down the roadway.
