Solheim is holding its First Annual Midsummer Night’s Gala on Saturday, June 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Festivities will include dining under the stars, live music and dancing, incredible raffle prizes and Shakespearean delights around every corner. Catering the event is Debbie Lee, executive chef and president of Mind Body Fork, a sustainable meal delivery service that focuses on conscious cooking while providing top shelf chef cuisine for food connoisseurs to take part.
Chef Lee has been called a culinary visionary and often referred to as the female David Chang. She gained a legion of fans as she reached the top three in Season 5 of “The Next Food Network Star.” “Ahn-Joo,” her clever fast-casual model and modern version of the Korean Drinking house, brought her notoriety as the queen of modern gastro-pub fare. She was also the first chef from a food truck, The Poutine Truck, to be heralded as one of the top 10 restaurants of the year by The Huffington Post in July 2011.
She is the author of the cookbook “Seoultown Kitchen,” which started her on a path to expand her gastronomic versatility. The cookbook received critical acclaim, making The New York Times’ most notable cookbooks of the year list. Further accolades included a spot on the Details Magazine top 10 of the year and a first-time nomination from the International Association of Culinary Professionals in the international cookbook category. Her user-friendly, effortless approach to breaking down Korean flavors has been featured on several media.
Lee keeps the integrity of her cooking to the level of upscale restaurant dining, while forgoing any chemically engineered products. Mind Body Fork offers one-of-a-kind sustainable daily meal services using local farmers, ensuring that it is truly a “farm-to-table” movement.
