4400 block of Oakwood Avenue in La Cañada, the rear passenger window was smashed and a purse and personal items were stolen from a vehicle that was parked at La Cañada High School between 9:20 a.m. and 11 a.m.

May 21
3800 Ocean View Boulevard in Montrose, several vehicles at the location were vandalized with scratches into the cars’ bodywork between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

300 block of Corona Drive in La Cañada, a person/persons entered a residence and stole a safe containing personal information between 1 p.m. and 8:10 p.m.

May 18
2800 block of Adams Street in La Crescenta, a 50-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, both from Los Angeles, were arreested after deputies allegedly traced the suspects via a stolen iPad. A woman reported she had been waiting for a friend in front of the location. She left her purse and backpack filled with items, including a laptop computer and an iPad, on the sidewalk as she went back into her home for about “two minutes.” When she came back out her property was not there. She noticed a man standing close to where she left her items. She asked him if he had taken her items and he said no but he had saw an older “beat-up blue Toyota pickup” driving away.
The woman was able to track her iPad using an application and came up with an address. Detectives went to the location, found the blue Toyota pickup that was identified by the witness and found the suspects and the stolen property. The incident occurred at 1:20 p.m.

May 17
4900 block of Ramsdell Avenue in La Crescenta, a woman reported a jewelry box with several items of jewelry was stolen. She had workers in her home dropping off furniture between May 17-20.

600 block of Foothill Boulevard
in La Cañada, an employee at Gelson’s Market reported
witnessing a man acting
suspiciously in the store. He allegedly prepared a plate of food in the deli area and began eating it. Then he went to the back of the store and picked up more food, along with cans of iced tea. The employee approached the man who handed him several items he had taken. The man began to walk outside of the store. The employee stopped him. There was a physical altercation. The employee kept the man there until deputies arrived. After an investigation it was discovered the suspect was on parole until 2020 regarding a terrorist threats conviction. He was arrested at
6:10 p.m.

600 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a 45-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested for allegedly stealing make-up from a store at the location at 4:10 p.m.

400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a business owner reported he heard a loud crashing
sound coming from the front of his store. He found the front glass door of his store had been shattered. The incident occurred at 3:10 a.m.

May 16
2400 block of Florencita Avenue in Montrose, jewelry was stolen from a jewelry rack in a resident’s bathroom. She had hired two workers to clean her backyard and left her home to go to work. She left her back patio door open to allow her dog to go outside when needed.
When she arrived home, the workers were gone and she noticed her necklace was missing. The theft occurred overnight.
