One of the keystone principles of any chamber of commerce is to help improve and maintain a healthy business climate for its members. This is achieved not only for the sake of business and the common good of today, but also so that future generations may prosper. It was with that in mind that the MVCCC held its annual scholarship and awards mixer on Wednesday, July 7 at Jenkins Properties Management at 2626 Honolulu Ave. The community’s most brilliant young students were awarded scholarships that will help them thrive in the world of tomorrow and allow them to become functional and contributing members of the community and society at large. So it is with great pride that the MVCCC awarded Talar Alexanian and Divya Goel $500 scholarships. Our most prestigious scholarship – the Anita Peet Geyer Scholarship – was awarded to Kaitlan Reininger. All these students are alumni of Crescenta Valley High School. We extend a hearty congratulations to them and a deep thanks to the parents and school staff who shaped their character.

Last Saturday was also the perfect weekend for our July 7 Artwalk: just warm enough with a light, fresh breeze. So many great artists and art pieces –  something for every taste could be had. Under the canopy of jacarandas, a whole outdoor museum of local art unfolded along Honolulu.
