New Views from the Ashes

“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”

Henry David Thoreau

From June 19  to July 24, ART from the Ashes Gallery at 216 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale  is showing impressive artwork crafted from materials collected from the Station Fire site locations after personal items had been removed. All proceeds are to benefit Deukmejian Wilderness Park in La Crescenta.

ART from the Ashes is a non-profit organization of independent artists and volunteers who contribute their talent, time and energy to create art for resource. Debris that would otherwise be cleared and dumped into landfill is gathered and transfigured into one-of-a-kind works of art through the unique vision of each artist. ART from the ashes is about transformation. Their goal is to provide a cathartic avenue to communities affected by wildfires by transfiguring fire site debris into beautiful works of art. By using reclaimed materials as their medium, they hope to inspire and support the heart, mind and planet. Help benefit the Deukmejian Wilderness Park, view some exquisite art and get inspired by the art from the ashes of the Station Fire.
