People lined up early on Saturday morning to be the first to explore the treasures for sale at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept.-Crescenta Valley Station on Briggs Avenue. The CV Station volunteers hosted the annual rummage sale offering items for sale donated by people from the community. All proceeds were dedicated to the station volunteer fund that helps support volunteer programs, like Volunteers on Patrol and Neighborhood Watch, and to fund station events.
According to a CV Sheriff’s Station statement, CV Station volunteers worked over 6,000 hours in 2015, which saved the LASD thousands of dollars that would have been paid to on-duty personnel. At present the station has 55 volunteers.
