Congressman Buck McKeon met with local community and business leaders on Friday, July 9 at Crescenta Valley Insurance. The visit was initiated when some of the Congressman’s constituents were in Washington DC for the Insurance Agents and Broker of America National Legislative Conference. Rep. McKeon’s district includes parts of La Crescenta, Tujunga, Sunland and the Santa Clarita Valley.

In attendance at the meeting were business and civic leaders including Danette Erikson and Steve Pierce from the Crescenta Valley Town Council; Rick Dinger, Marilyn Ginn, Holly Heurkins and Dave Jones from Crescenta Valley Insurance; and Joe Kroening and Chris Waldheim.

Items addressed were the growing national deficit and the overall gridlock in DC of which Congressman McKeon expressed concern. “Something has to change or my grandchildren will not have the same opportunities that have been afforded to me and my children,” McKeon said.

The meeting lasted over an hour and attendees had an opportunity to ask the Congressman questions on a variety of topics.

“It was an honor to not only host Congressman McKeon, but there was also some great interaction with some of our community leaders,” reported Dinger, president of Crescenta Valley Insurance.
