Though their adult counterparts may have been gaining attention lately, native “babies” at the Rosemont Preserve deserve some press, too. The baby bear shown is probably closer to yearling, experts say.
“During the tracking tour held last week, Johanna Turner, who was leading the tour, found prints of two bears but now we know we have three!” said Barbara Nielsen, Preserve volunteer.
The two fawns below have been seen bounding
through the brush along with some beautiful bucks.
The next restoration day at the Rosemont Preserve is Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Preserve is located in La Crescenta at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. Parking is available at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave.
