Mix Up Your Promo Efforts with a Mixer

Next Wednesday, on Aug. 10, we’ll host our seventh mixer of 2016.  We have a number of local businesspeople who make it a priority to attend our monthly mixers.  They know it’s a great opportunity to get to know other businesspeople in a relaxed, party-like atmosphere.

Phil and Charlene Downs are regular mixer attendees. Phil said, “I’ve been to a lot of mixers and the CV Chamber puts on a great one! The people are nice to talk to, the presenters have a lot of stage presence, the raffle prize drawings are fun and I like that people have an opportunity to speak to the group.”

Ethel Cummens with LegalShield also often attends. Here’s what she has to say about being an active Chamber member: “I love that when you join a Chamber it’s there to help you grow in so many ways, not only in my own business, but by helping others. They say if you help enough people get what they want (which is success) you will get what you want. Joining a Chamber is one of the best moves that I have made in my business and career.”

As Phil mentioned above, at our mixers we provide an opportunity for attendees to say a few words about what’s going on with their organization. For instance, last month J.D. Speas from Crescenta-Cañada Pet Hospital used his two minutes to tell the crowd about the hospital’s new Petly Plan for preventative care.  Ken Brown showed his handmade greeting cards and asked about ideas for retail displays. Photographer Jennifer Emery offered a discounted headshot package. In between these short “elevator pitches,” people talked, laughed, ate, drank, won raffle prizes and generally had fun while networking.

At the Chamber, one of our priorities is to help members boost their promotion and branding efforts. We want people to know you’re out there and open for business! A mixer is a great way to do it. Besides networking and speaking at mixers, you can donate prizes or gift cards with your business name for us to announce. You can also have your company logo printed on our photography backdrop for a small fee. (Deadline for this is mid-September and space is limited. Call Lisa at the office for details [818] 248-4957.)

So come on down to the August mixer next Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 pm.  We’ll be on the first floor patio of the newest Glendale offices of the Hollywood Production Center. It’s at 127 S. Brand Blvd., near the In-N-Out next to the Americana at Brand. Free parking is available in the nearby Glendale Galleria lot. See the HPC’s new office and production facilities and enjoy some food and drink for a mere $7 ($9 for non-members).
