Students returning to Fremont Elementary will find new portable classrooms installed on their campus. The classrooms will become interim housing for the school while a new two-story, 20-classroom building is constructed, according to Tony Barrios, interim executive director, Planning, Development and Facilities, Glendale Unified School District.
Once the building is complete, the 17 portable classrooms will be removed completely from the site.
At La Crescenta Elementary, Barrios said that the district is in the process of moving the portable classrooms that will become interim housing for the school while a new two-story, 16-classroom building is being built. Once that building is complete the 14 portable classrooms will be removed completely from the site.
These two projects are being funded out of Measure S funds and matching state over-crowding relief grant (ORG) funds.
