Scare LA is the scariest convention of the summer. Specializing in Halloween, horror and all things scary, this is a convention held every August at the Pasadena Civic Center for fans of fear to get into the “spirit” of the season, just a few months early. It also serves as the go-to con for anyone interested in putting on or attending a haunted attraction– a spookhouse, walkthrough, maze or any other of the myriad names for the Halloweentime jump-out-and-scare-you fun.

With panels announcing the biggest and best from Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights and Knott’s Scary Farm to helping the newcomer learn how to make set dressings and props and apply makeup, this is the place to scare and be scared.

For the first time this year, the con hosted a full size walkthrough haunted attraction in one of the meeting halls. Blood Offering: The Legend of the Iron Witch was massively popular, as was the Hollywood Horrors Museum, which brought costumes and props from classic horror films such as “The Wolfman” and “Thriller.”
