Stephanie M. Green of La Cañada has been named to the Wichita State University dean’s honor roll for spring 2016.
To be included on the dean’s honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
WSU enrolls about 14,500 students and offers more than 50 undergraduate degree programs in more than 150 areas of study in six undergraduate colleges.

Claire Steckbeck of La Cañada graduated on May 14 during Emmanuel College’s 94th commencement exercises on its campus in Boston. Steckbeck received a Bachelor of Arts in communication and media studies during the ceremony.
Steckbeck was a December 2015 graduate of Emmanuel College.
The only Catholic college in the heart of Boston, Emmanuel educates and inspires more than 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students from across the nation and around the world.

Samuel Frederich of La Cañada graduated with a BA in cinema and media studies from Carleton College at its 142nd commencement exercises held on June 11.
Frederich is the child of Peter and Charlotte Frederich of La Cañada.

Andrew Arizmendi, a member of the class of 2016 from Glendale, has been named to the spring 2016 dean’s list at Loyola University Maryland.
In order to qualify for the dean’s list at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.
Established in 1852, Loyola University Maryland is a Catholic, Jesuit comprehensive university comprising Loyola College, home to the University’s arts and sciences programs.

Arpeni Mael from Glendale has been named to the UMass Dartmouth spring 2016 dean’s list in recognition of earning a semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0.
UMass Dartmouth, located in Massachusetts, distinguishes itself as a vibrant public university actively engaged in personalized teaching and innovative research, and acting as an intellectual catalyst for regional economic, social, and cultural development.

Anthony Avellano of La Crescenta made the dean’s list at the Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring 2016 semester. Avellano is studying photographic and imaging arts.
Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for dean’s list if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Kaelin King of La Cañada Flintridge has been named to the 2016 spring semester dean’s list at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania for outstanding academic achievement. To qualify for dean’s list, a student must achieve at least a 3.60 semester grade point average on a scale of 4.0.
King is a graduate of Flintridge Preparatory School.
Lafayette is a top liberal arts college with 2,450 students and 215 full-time faculty that offers a wide variety of undergraduate degree programs including engineering.

Samuel Whitefield was among 3,000 students who graduated from Tufts University in Massachusetts in May.
The graduates from the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering included Whitefield of La Cañada Flintridge who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international relations.

Chad J. Rahtz of Tujunga has been selected for inclusion on the dean’s list for academic achievement during the spring 2016 semester at St. Lawrence University.

Galileo Nunez, a Tujunga resident and a student at Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,000 students who made the dean’s list in the spring 2016 semester. Nunez also earned a degree in architecture during the 127th commencement ceremony.

Angela Baik of Montrose has been named to the Whitworth University provost’s honor roll for spring semester 2016.
She qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.

Caylie Denham of Tujunga is a member of the 2016 Hofstra University volleyball team. Hofstra, which finished 2015 with a record of 21-11, was picked to finish first in the preseason Colonial Athletic Association Coaches Poll released recently. Hofstra opened the 2016 campaign when it headed to the Black Knights Invitational at Army West Point.
