Final 34-Hour RoseJam Closure Planned

The California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) will close all lanes of the eastbound Foothill [210] Freeway between Mountain Street and Lake Avenue for a 34-hour weekend closure as part of a pavement rehabilitation project. The closure will begin Saturday,
Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.

The eastbound I-210 connector to the westbound Ventura [134] Freeway will also be closed, along with the eastbound 210 Lincoln Avenue and Mountain Street on-ramps.

Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to plan ahead, use alternate routes, avoid the area or use public transit. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before leaving by calling 511 or visiting the Caltrans Quickmap at quickmap.dot.ca.gov

The 34-hour weekend closures will take place:

• Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. through Monday, Aug. 29 at
5 a.m.

The Foothill Freeway is a major thoroughfare, serving commuters between Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. As a result of heavy use, the road has experienced extensive wear.

The closures are part of a $148.5 million pavement rehabilitation project in both directions of I-210 in the cities of Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge and Pasadena, and the unincorporated Los Angeles County-Crescenta Valley.

Once the project is completed in 2019 the new surface will provide a smoother, safer drive for motorists, reduce time required for maintenance and minimize the need for further lane closures.

Flatiron West Inc. is the contractor on this project.

Motorists are advised to “Be Work Zone Alert.”
