Dixie Consumer Products launched Deadzone Diners last weekend. The campaign aims to make diners more aware of the benefits of putting down the cellphone and striking up a conversation. The initiative will transform the negative perception of cellular dead zones into unique opportunities for people to “Be More Here.”
To drive home the impact of “Be More Here” moments, Dixie has partnered with noted chef and TV personality Carla Hall. As co-host of ABC’s “The Chew,” a successful restaurateur and popular cookbook author, Hall adheres to the philosophy of cooking with love and treating meals as important social occasions. Hall created the menu for the diners, which featured her signature southern-inspired recipes that will also be available at Dixie.com.
Friday night’s DZD was held at the Federal Reserve Vault in Downtown, where a classic ’50s style diner was set up to serve classic meatloaf sandwiches, glazed carrots, smashed potatoes and chocolate pie. Saturday’s diner featured an ice cream bar and was held in Bronson Cave in Griffith Park. Finally on Sunday, breakfast foods were served at Temescal Canyon Park. For more info, visit Dixie.com.
