Business owners are being told to be aware of possible counterfeit bills being passed in the La Cañada area.

On Sept. 7 a business in the 1000 block of Foothill Boulevard was given a $100 bill for items purchased. It was later found that bill was fictitious.

Anyone who sees someone attempting to pay with a fictitious bill is asked to contact the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station (818) 248-3464.
