Verdugo Hills High School class of 1970 is having its 40-year reunion on Aug. 28 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The cost is $60 per person and includes dinner and music at the Angeles National Golf Club, 9401 Foothill Blvd., Sunland. NOON CONCERTS OPEN
TO PUBLIC
Glendale Noon Concerts are a free admission concert series taking place every first and third Wednesday from 12:10-12:40 p.m. in the newly restored chapel and sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Glendale (downtown at Louise & Wilson, no religious affiliation). On Aug. 4 French horn player Rachel Berry will be performing two chamber works by Robert Schumann celebrating the composer’s bicentennial. There is no charge to attend.
DESCANSO HOSTING HAPA
Descanso Gardens is hosting HAPA in Concert, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on July 24. Experience the sounds of Hawaii with HAPA, whose music has been described as the “most exciting and beautiful contemporary Hawaiian music the world knows!” (Maui Times). ‘DOUBLE INDEMNITY’ COMING TO GLENDALE
The Glendale Historical Society will be screening ‘Double Indemnity’ at Brand Park in Glendale on Sunday, July 25 as part of its Glendale Noir outdoor summer film series. The movie contains scenes filmed in Glendale. Screenings begin at 7:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, a picnic and a flashlight. Free admission and parking.

VHH OFFERS BABYSITTING CLASSES FOR YOUTH
The Verdugo Hills Hospital Beginnings Family Education Program offers babysitting classes designed for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 15. The babysitting class is an interactive course that teaches participants valuable skills, including infant/child CPR, basic first aid, home/ auto safety, accident prevention, telephone skills, safety tips, when to call 911, poison control, fire/earthquake plans and other helpful childcare advice. A CONCERT OF LOVE BEING PRESENTED
Theatre Americana and Show of Support Productions present “The 60’s Revisited – A Concert of Love” on Saturday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Doctor’s House at Brand Park.
Pack a picnic, bring a bottle of wine (and maybe some mosquito repellent) and the kids for a lovely concert. Admission is free, but there will be a raffle of a great gift basket donated by Nestle valued at $150.
