The Campbell Center (TCC) Annual Bowl-A-Thon is turning 25 this year and plans are underway to make it the best one ever. Scheduled for Nov. 6, the event will again be held at Pickwick Lanes in Burbank. Always a big hit with TCC, this fun event, a much-anticipated tradition over the years, will again bring together bowlers and bowling teams from Glendale, Burbank, the Crescenta Valley, Pasadena, Los Feliz and surrounding communities for an afternoon of sports and fundraising. Funds raised will help The Campbell Center continue its mission to provide quality programs and services to its developmentally-disabled client population.
With the help of the talented TCC clients, the 24 participating bowling teams will compete in a spirit of camaraderie and goodwill for several awards, including first place team trophy.
The day will include a buffet lunch, bowling tournament and plenty of fun.
“We are very pleased to participate in The Campbell Center’s Bowl-A-Thon with a sponsorship and are looking forward to fielding teams of bowlers from our company,” said Haig Youredjian, president of Western Drug Medical Supply and member of The Campbell Center Foundation board. “The event is an opportunity for everyone to spend a few hours with TCC clients having fun and engaging in a most worthwhile endeavor in support of the organization’s mission.”
Other sponsors include Glendale Police Officers’ Association and the Emery family of Sunland, longtime supporters of The Campbell Center.
Sponsorships ranging from $750 to $300 are still available, as are spaces for teams. Teams of four bowlers are $125 each. Donors can also sponsor clients’ participation at $35 each, enabling them to take part in the day’s activities. Donations of any amount from those who are not able to attend are welcome and will go a long way in helping to underwrite costs associated with the production of the event.
The TCC Bowl-A-Thon is a sold out event every year and teams will be assigned lanes on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for event sponsorship and registration is Oct. 21. For information contact Rita Tomassian-Hopkins at (818) 242-2434, ext. 312 or by email at rita@thecampbell.org.
