On Thursday morning, July 15, Glendale Fire Chief Harold Scoggins promoted two members of the Glendale Fire Department during a badge pinning ceremony at Glendale Fire Station #21.
Engineer/paramedic Ed Marquez advanced to the rank of fire captain effective Friday, July 16 and was assigned to the “B” Platoon, Engine 26.
Captain Marquez, a 12 year veteran firefighter with the City of Glendale, joined the Glendale Fire family in October 1998 and is described as a very active member of the department. He has participated in many department projects and programs including Urban Search and Rescue, EMT instructor and EMS equipment committee.
Firefighter/paramedic Greg Shaw was promoted to the rank of fire engineer effective Tuesday, July 20 and assigned to the “A” Platoon, Engine 26.
Engineer Shaw, a 15 year veteran firefighter with the City of Glendale joined the Glendale Fire family in September 1995. He has been involved in various aspects of the department including EMT instructor, Fire Academy peer instructor and EMS equipment committee.
