“The year that is drawing towards its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies.”
Abraham Lincoln, Proclamation of Thanksgiving
“I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November as a day of Thanksgiving.” Amazingly it was in the midst of Civil War these words came forth. Today we have many things to be thankful for …
The many blessings of living in the Crescenta Valley.
Historic designation and preservation of Rockhaven Sanitarium as a cultural site and park space.
Annual Montrose Christmas Parade.
Never ending dedication of the Crescenta Valley Town Council & Chamber of Commerce.
Kids and young adults in our community.
Sunsets of equal but unique awesomeness throughout the year.
Giving nature and volunteerism of/in our community.
Idyllic in climate, weather and location.
View of the Pacific Ocean on a clear day.
Incredible schools, both public and private from K-12
Neighbors of all ages, cultures and genders coming together as friends.
Gusty Santa Ana winds blowing through the trees and canyons, adding nature’s music.
As this day of Thanksgiving is warm, breezy and clear, is it too late to move the turkey from the oven to the barbecue? Earlier in the week our seasonal rain total reached two inches as we received over an inch. And once again clouds, holding a chance of rain, may affect this weekend’s weather.
Safe travels …
President Lincoln concluded his Thanksgiving Proclamation asking for “… peace, harmony, tranquility and Union.”
