This Saturday’s grand opening and ribbon cutting at the new Wells Fargo branch is shaping up to be a day of fun and entertainment. Called the Free Family Fun Day, the event goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Pennsylvania and Foothill. The CV Jazz Band will be there along with Boy Scout Troop 288 and local youth Malia Chock singing “The Star Spangled Banner.” There will be games, face painting, music, a popcorn machine and a photo booth. Wells Fargo mascot Jack the Dog will make an appearance and the Wells Fargo stagecoach will be on site! Your Chamber will doing the ribbon cutting around noon. Again, it’s this Saturday, Dec. 10.
We’re gearing up again for the 92nd Annual Chamber Installation Lunch when we honor outgoing and incoming chamber officers and directors. We combine this event with distribution of the 2017 Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Endowment Funds. This year we’ll award grants to the following educational institutions that are continuing to make a difference in our community:
Ahead with Horses
CVHS Instrumental Music Program
Dunsmore Elementary School
Fremont Elementary School
Glendale Clean & Beautiful
CVHS Prom Plus
Rose Bowl Aquatics Center
Rosemont Middle School
St. James the Less School
YMCA of the Foothills
We invite anyone who’d like to honor these organizations and our hardworking, all-volunteer CV Chamber board to join us at the luncheon. This year, it will be held at Angeles National Golf Course, 9401 Foothill Blvd. in Sunland on Thursday, Jan. 12 starting at 11 a.m. Tickets for a delicious buffet lunch of chicken, pasta, salad and more are $40. Reservations may be made by emailing info@CrescentaValleyChamber.org.
Next Wednesday, Dec. 14, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital will be hosting our December mixer from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The member jackpot (sponsored by USC VHH) is up to a whopping $650! We bring our “fishbowl” filled with the names of every active CV Chamber business and non-profit member. If your name gets picked and you’re at the mixer, that money goes right in your pocket!
But there are a hundred other reasons to come to the mixer. For instance, eat dinner for only $7 ($9 if you’re not a member). A little birdie told me this mixer is catered by the incomparable Gourmet a-Go-Go. Or come to promote your business by participating in our Prize & Pitch program. Bring a prize for our raffle drawing (preferably one that promotes your business) and speak for one to two minutes about what’s new with your company. Or come and meet new customers. If you show us two new business cards that you collect that evening, we’ll give you a free raffle ticket.
Finally, don’t forget to bring in your Angel Tree Christmas Wish gifts by Dec. 12. We’ll bring them down to the Salvation Army for distribution to local children.
There’s always something going on at the CV Chamber – your hub for all things Crescenta Valley.
