School begins on Monday Aug. 30 and ends on June 16. There will be some changes in class sizes, teachers and principals but what won’t be changing is the stress of an ever-increasing hectic life for both parents and children.  The best defense in heading toward the new school year is organization.  Here are some dates that readers may want to post on the refrigerator or type in your Blackberry:

By now parents should have received a letter that outlines basic information about the school year.  The first things parents will notice is the lack of paperwork via the thick manila envelope that usually arrives at resident’s homes.  In an attempt to reduce costs the students will pick up the information packet when they get their schedule (dates below).

Official program listing student’s first semester classes by teacher and period will be distributed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. according to the following schedule:

Seniors—Aug. 17

Juniors—Aug. 19

Sophomores—Aug. 23

Freshman—Aug. 25

This will be the scheduled time to pick up identification cards, books and to find a locker.
