Crescenta Valley High School’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” will dazzle audience members for a one-week engagement held in the school’s MacDonald Auditorium. The show times of the iconic musical are Feb. 24, Feb. 25, March 3 and March 4 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
The show is directed by Kay Cole and Brent Beerman, head of the CVHS Performing Arts Dept.
Throughout the years, Beerman has directed pervious shows held at CVHS, including “Sweeney Todd,” “My Fair Lady,” “Annie,” and an original play entitled “22%.”
Cole also has choreographed this rendition of the dark and romantic musical. Additionally, Kathi Chaplar, who is also an English teacher at CVHS, is the show’s musical director, and Mathew Schick, the head of the CVHS music department, is the show’s instrumental director. Additionally, costume design for the production is by Kaja Sondergaad, a CVHS theater department alumni.
The cast of students in the French opera are Cameron Vargas, Analisa Bribiesca, Luke Naoumovitch, Alia Jordan,, Carolyn Caothers, Sarah Beth Zohrehvand, Aidan Travis, Zach Cicciarelli, Max Von Wincklemann, Carsten Sondergaad, Hannah Weingarten, Lucas McNevin, Jacob Strong, Mitchell Bayles, Catherine Carothers, Madison Davis, Nicl Desmond, Evan Fietkiewwicz, DJ Harrison, Quinn Kelly, Lilly Leif, Cade Lipscomb, Emma Meyer, Sydney Pontius, Zachary Pontius, Alithiea Valez, Molly Wolflick, and Nick Zamora.
