Open House Tonight
Crescenta Valley High School is hosting open house tonight, Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m. Classroom doors open at 6:30 p.m. Barbecue dinner is provided by Prom Plus. The cost is $7 per person and includes either a burger, hot dog or sausage and chips and a drink. Food will be available for purchase at 5:30 p.m.
CVHS is located at 2900 Community Ave. in La Crescenta.
Glendale Youth Orchestra Performs at Alex Theatre
The Glendale Youth Orchestra, conducted by Brad Keimach, performs its second concert of the 28th season on Sunday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale. A program of all French music including Fauré – Pelléas et Mélisande; Saint-Saëns – Violin Concerto No. 3, 3rd movement, Ibert – Flute Concerto, 1st movement (Josephine Lee, flute, of Crescenta Valley High School), Ravel – Mother Goose Suite Bizet, Carmen Suite.
The concert will be dedicated to the lasting memory of GYO founder Joseph Laraza (1945-2016).
The GYO is funded in part by a grant from the LA County Arts Commission.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from the Alex Theatre box office. Groups of 15 or more get 15% off. Students, children and seniors may purchase tickets for $12 each. Delicious Improv Served
ComedySportz-High School League is serving up a night of tasty improv comedy at the school’s Underground Theatre. Matches start at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults.
The Underground Theatre is located at the campus, 2900 Community Ave. in La Crescenta.
CVIM Holds Spring Instrumental Concert
The Crecenta Valley High School Instrumental Music Dept. is holding its annual spring instrumental concert on Wednesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. at the MacDonald Auditorium. The concert features the talents of the jazz band, symphony orchestra, concert band, string orchestra and wind ensemble. They will be playing classical favorites.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students.

CSF Announces Scholarship Opp
The Community Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge (CSF) has announced that the 2017 scholarship applications are now available. CSF is a community-supported foundation established in 1964 with the goal of enabling any student to attend college, university, or a trade/technical school upon completion of his or her secondary school studies. Fulltime students who attend La Cañada High School, Flintridge Preparatory School, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Hillside School and Learning Center, Saint Francis High School and Crescenta Valley High School, regardless of home residency, are eligible to apply for scholarships.
