CV Town Council
 Meets Tonight
The next general meeting of the Crescenta Valley Town Council is tonight, Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. Meetings
take place in the community room of the La Crescenta Library. All are invited to attend.
According to the town council website, herbicide application is being done at CV Park on the third Wednesday of the month from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Herbicide is not sprayed near any standing water or drainage channels. The application of herbicides is done in full compliance with all County of Los Angeles Agricultural Commissioner’s Office regulations. In the event weather temperature is below 70 degrees, as well as during wind or rain, herbicide spraying will be rescheduled for another day. Changes due to weather conditions or any other requirements will be reflected on the schedule. The schedule will be made available in English, Spanish and Korean on the first day of every month, and will be posted on the Community Center’s Information Board. Two Strike Park is another site that will be included.

CV Weekly Offices to Close Early
Today, Thursday, CV Weekly will close at 4 p.m. On Friday, March 17, the office will close at noon.
Regular office hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) resume on Monday.
Wine Walk Saturday
The inaugural Wine Walk hosted by the Montrose Shopping Park is on Saturday, March 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $45. A portion of the receipts from ticket sales will be donated to our co-sponsor, the La Crescenta Woman’s Club. Tickets available presale or at the event.

Deukmejian Workday
Volunteers are invited to Deukmejian Wilderness Park on Saturday, March 18 from 8 a.m. to noon for a workday. Help is needed for tree watering and invasive weed removal in the park. Everyone can participate – there’s work for all ages and abilities. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, protective clothing including long pants, hat and sun protection.

Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Afternoon
An “open gate” event is taking place at the Rosemont Preserve on Sunday morning, March 19. This is a chance for residents to visit the Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace and enjoy the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. Photographers: bring your camera to capture the early morning light.
The gate will be open from
9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Friends of the Rosemont Preserve Committee members will be available to answer questions and present this community resource.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Those planning on walking the trails should wear sturdy shoes.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages; no reservations required. Rain cancels. Sorry, no pets please.

Glendale    Elks Hosting Annual Charity Car Show
Glendale Elks #1289 is hosting its annual charity car show on Sunday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to come inspect an array of cars ranging from a 1914 Ford Model T to custom modified cars of many descriptions. Breakfast and lunch may be purchased throughout the day plus there will be raffles and a silent auction. The event is free for the public to attend. The Elks will be honoring veterans, police and fireman who have served the country as well as the local community.

Spring Break
Local public schools will be on spring break Monday, March 20 through Friday, March 24. There is also a student-free day on Monday, March 27.
CVCA Plans March Meeting
The March meeting of the Crescenta Valley Community Association is Thursday, March 23 starting at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. The agenda includes updates on local land use issues and discussion of the April 4 Glendale election. The meeting is free and open to all stakeholders.
