The Air Force JROTC held a bingo game on March 11 at the American Legion Hall in La Crescenta. An estimated 130 players came out to support the AFJROTC, which is sending four cadets to the 2017 National Drill Competition (Open Color Guard Category). With mentor Lt. Col. Dave Worley, cadets Grace Kim (Detail Commander), Frederick Stepanian, Daniel Kim, and Daniel Cho were on hand to greet guests and help with the food and drink for sale.

Unexpected guests were Assemblymember Laura Friedman, who came with her daughter, and Congressman Adam Schiff, who sponsored one of the games.

Overseeing the night were vets from the American Legion, including Lynn McGinnis who welcomed players and introduced several of the games’ sponsors. At the end of the evening, McGinnis tabulated the funds collected from the evening’s players, food and beverage sales and raffle ticket sales.

“Lynn McGinnis told me that we made close to $3,000,” said Worley. “I am humbled as to how the community came together to support the team going to Daytona Beach – incredibly awesome!”
