At the Crescenta Valley Town Council on March 16, Haig Kartounian from Southern California Edison said electrical infrastructure improvements would be moving to La Cañada in late March. SoCal Edison is improving circuits in the foothills, and will move work from La Crescenta Avenue east to Angeles Crest Highway. Kartounian said Edison is trying to delay start times from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. to mitigate early morning inconvenience for its customers.
CV Water District general manager Thomas Love said the district would soon be changing alerts from extreme conservation to normal conservation, citing the recent rains and the district’s customers’ ability to conserve water as reasons.
“We do have a very good water supply … even if we have drought conditions the next three years,” Love said.
In a money-saving effort, GUSD will not hold summer school this year at Rosemont Middle School. Instead, those classes will be moved to Crescenta Valley High.
On Saturday, the Sunrise Rotary Club will sponsor A Walk for Water, a clean water fundraiser that will benefit the water projects of Aid Africa. The sixth annual Crescenta Valley Prayer Breakfast is set for April 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church-La Crescenta, 4441 La Crescenta Ave. The keynote speaker will be Christine Frandsen, who has taught Scripture for many years in Southern California. There will be performances by Crescenta Valley High School Charismatics and Hiza Yoo’s Korean Dance Institute.
The breakfast is organized by the CV Town Council and various local organizations.
The next CVTC meeting is scheduled for April 20 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd.
