Early Voting Available this Weekend for April 4 Election

If you don’t think your vote matters you are wrong. It does matter! Read on.
Did you know that only 20% of the residents of Glendale turned out in the 2015 election? That only 4% and 8,000 votes are needed to win in a Glendale election compared to our population of 193,000? That means 4% of the City decided the election results in 2015! The City of Glendale and the city clerk’s office are looking to change these statistics by making it easier than ever to cast your vote. For the first time in Glendale’s history, the city Election Center will be open to issue emergency vote-by-mail ballots to individuals who wish to vote prior to Election Day or who will not be able to make it to their regular polling place on April 4. The city election’s staff will also be accepting vote-by-mail ballots at the same location between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The purpose of this initiative is to give voters multiple options to make their choices prior to Election Day and mirrors similar efforts by counties throughout the state of California.
According to Glendale City Clerk Ardy Kassakhian, “Our goal is to make voting simpler and easier for everyone who wants to vote and that includes keeping our Elections Center open on the weekend before Election Day. This is a first in Glendale history and we are excited to see the results.”
April 4 is Election Day for Glendale residents. Please remember to get out and vote on April 4. Glendale residents will be voting for three city council seats, city clerk, city treasurer and Measure L. For more in-depth information about the upcoming election, log onto www.GlendaleVotes.org. Remember: this is a ticket only event so help us keep the line down and pre-purchase your tickets today at www.montrosebrewfest.com! VIP early entrance at noon is $45; general admission begins at 1 p.m. and tickets are $35 and the designated driver food only ticket is $25. Tickets bought day of will be $40. Your ticket includes unlimited* sampling of micro brews and craft brews as well as unlimited* sampling of food from participating local restaurants (*until supplies run out).
