On April 2 at about 9:30 a.m. a Glendale police officer conducted a routine vehicle traffic stop for not displaying a license plate at Foothill Boulevard and Lowell Avenue. During the stop officers reported seeing a firearm magazine on the passenger seat.
The driver, Hector Sanchez, 35, from Tujunga, was detained. After an investigation and search of the vehicle, a 9mm Glock firearm was located in the glove compartment. Officers also reportedly found the license plate on the rear passenger seat along with a white powdery substance resembling cocaine. Other drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle as well.
A search of Sanchez revealed a gun holster attached to his waistband, according to a Glendale police report.
GPD placed the suspect under arrest and booked for carrying a concealed firearm, suspicion of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Glendale police remind residents that they strictly enforce the no license plate violators. On March 31, GPD issued 21 citations to drivers who did not have a license plate displayed.
