Sagebrush Meeting
After months of rescheduling, the Los Angeles County Committee on School District Organization (LACCSDO) will finally meet to deliver a decision on the proposed Sagebrush territory transfer from Glendale Unified School District to La Cañada Unified School District. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 9:30 a.m. in the boardroom of the Los Angeles County Office of Education, 9300 Imperial Highway in Downey.
Eye Screenings at HCF
Among the many activities at Saturday’s Hometown Country Fair are eye free screenings provided by the Crescenta-Cañada Lions Club. Screenings are available for children 6 months and older and for adults.
These screenings use a newly developed camera and software technology to capture and print results without physical contact. This is especially useful for younger children who don’t recognize symbols on eye charts.
The Hometown Country Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crescenta Valley Park, 3901 Dunsmore Park in La Crescenta. It is free to attend.
Moose Lodge Hosting Dance
The Glendale Moose Lodge #641, which meets at the American Legion Hall, is hosting a spring fling dance on Saturday, April 29. The cost is $15 per person and includes prime rib roast beef dip sandwiches and dancing to the Generation Gap Band.
Food served at 6 p.m., dancing until 10 p.m.
The American Legion Hall is located at 4011 La Crescenta Ave.
GEF Hosts Fitness Challenge
Glendale Educational Foundation introduces “The Kid’s Fitness Challenge” on April 29. Presented by Avery Dennison, it will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Verdugo Park, 1621 Cañada Blvd. in Glendale. It is expected to attract hundreds of Glendale Unified School District families that will enjoy games, activities, booths, music and food. It will be a fun event for the whole family to get kids moving and enjoying fitness. The Glendale Educational Foundation and America’s Healthy Kids are sponsoring the event.

Tickets are $5 per person to play all day.
CVCA Plans Meeting
The Crescenta Valley Community Association will meet starting at 7 p.m. tonight, Thursday, April 27 at the La Crescenta Library. The agenda includes updates on local land use and development issues. Free and open to all stakeholders.

Glendale Tech on Tap
Enjoy what’s on tap and meet Erik Wingren and Petra Wennberg Cesario, partners and co-founders of Interactivism as they talk about “Why Good UX Design is Smart Business.” This Tech on Tap will take place on Wednesday, May 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Moose Den in Glendale.
