The Y’s Explorer and Pioneer Day Camp were paid a special visit from the Wildlife Learning Center at Paradise Canyon Elementary School in La Cañada. Among the special guests for the campers were an alligator, a baby bobcat, a sloth, a squirrel monkey, a macaw and much more. The campers were fascinated to learn more about all of these creatures during pre-historic week.
The youngsters were all on their best behavior as they had to remain quiet to keep the animals calm.
“The kids defined the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect,” said site director Kelly Lambert. “Our campers love camp and were so happy and well behaved when meeting all the animals. They were curious, enthralled, and engaged. It was great to see.”
