New Project on Pennsylvania

Crescenta Valley Water District will be breaking ground on a new project that consists of replacing an eight-inch water transmission main, installed in 1948, along the northbound side of Pennsylvania from Encinal Avenue to Community Avenue.

The construction project will begin on May 15 and approximately 1,450 linear feet of eight-inch water transmission main will be replaced. This project is part of CVWD’s ongoing water main replacement program.

The contractor, Brkich Construction, will begin exploratory excavation work on the northbound side of the 4300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to verify the depths and locations of the surrounding utilities. Exploratory excavation will begin Monday, May 15 and continue along Pennsylvania Avenue from Encinal to Community until May 19.

Construction of the new water transmission main is scheduled to start on May 21 at the intersection of Encinal and Pennsylvania, which means that there will be temporary traffic delays for traffic traveling northbound on Pennsylvania Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the week. Traffic lanes will remain open on weekends.

CVWD and Brkich Construction anticipate that the project will be completed by the end of July 2017.

Residents are encouraged to call Christina Olmedo, project manager, for construction related questions, (818) 248-3925 or email colmedo@cvwd.com. Please check the CVWD website at www.cvwd.com for further updates.
