Mozart in May

La Cañada Congregational Church presents Mozart in May festival choir. It features soloists Laura Parker (soprano), Christina Thomas (mezzo-soprano), Russell Smith (tenor) and Kurt Winterhalter (bass) and the chamber orchestra with Joseph Klice, organist. Conductor is Harold Daughterty.

The concert is on Sunday, May 21 at 4 p.m. A free will offering will be available. Free childcare. Reception follows.

Sound Healing

Join Sally Hayes on Wednesday, June 7 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living for an evening of Sound Healing, with an introduction to sound healing, followed by a sound bath meditation and brief individual session demos with hand picked Tibetan bowls from Nepal. Love donation of $10.

This Week at LCIF

The community is invited to join Lutheran Church in the Foothills at its 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, May 21. Pastor Scott Peterson will share stories of the “Unknown God.” Nursery care is provided during the service for infants through toddlers and Children’s Church is available for children through sixth grade.

Registration for Vacation Bible School is now available online at www.lcifoothills.org/VBS. VBS will be from July 24-28 from 9 a.m. to noon. Children entering kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to enter the Maker Fun Factory where they’ll discover that we are “Created by God and Built for a Purpose!”

Life Improvement Courses Offered

The Church of Scientology Mission of the Foothills is offering variety of courses to better one’s life and relationships. Among the many courses offered are “How to Improve Relationships with Others,” “Successfully Raising Children” and “Knowing Who You Can Trust.”

Italian Classes Come to LCF Community Center

After two successful years of classes held at St. Bede on summer Saturday mornings, the Italian Catholic Federation is bringing back its popular Conversational Italian classes, but this year they will be held at the La Cañada Flintridge Community Center.

The course “Italian is Fun” provides lively lessons for beginners taught by Italian-born educator Franco Guangualano who brings years of experience to this fun-filled learning experience. Classes will be begin on Saturday mornings, June 10 and continue June 17, 24 and July 8, 15 and 22. There will be a break for the 4th of July weekend. Each class is from 9:30 a.m. to
11:30 a.m. and the course is open to members of the La Cañada Flintridge community. It is sponsored by the Italian Catholic Federation’s St. Bede Branch 374. For enrollment and information, call (818) 952-1969.

Enrollment is limited to 20 participants so early reservations are advised. The class is expected to fill up quickly.
