June 17
17800 block Little Tujunga Canyon Drive in Angeles National Forest, while residents were out of town someone entered their home and stole several items, including appliances, smashed the living room window, damaged the front door and cut wires on the main circuit breaker box. The burglary occurred between May 15 and June 17.
June 14
2200 block of Waltonia Drive in Montrose, a gift card, CD case and U.S. coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
600 block of Starlight Crest in La Cañada, a resident reported that while he was sleeping he awoke to the sound of glass breaking. He reported it sounded like an “explosion” and thought that a bear or animal had smashed a window. He did not hear anyone or anything after the glass was shattered. It did not appear anyone entered the residence.
The attempted burglary occurred at 10:55 p.m.
500 block of Haverstock Road in La Cañada, a resident reported that while he was sleeping he woke to the sound of glass shattering. He reported hearing footsteps and male voices coming from the ground level of his home. He yelled at them from his room and he heard people running around downstairs. He called 9-1-1 and deputies discovered the bathroom window had been shattered.
The attempted burglary occurred at 9:50 p.m.
June 13
1900 block of Orchard Lane in La Cañada, a woman had been notified that her home alarm system had been activated. She arrived home to find the living room sliding glass door had been smashed. A glass table had also been shattered.
The incident occurred between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
5200 block of Alta Canada Road in La Cañada, deputies responded to an alarm activation at a home. When they arrived they discovered the bedroom French door glass had been smashed. They contacted the owner who was on vacation and informed her. At the time nothing was reported stolen.
The incident occurred between June 9 and June 13.
June 12
2700 block of Frances Avenue in La Crescenta, a Global Positioning System was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
June 10
2700 block of Henrietta Avenue in La Crescenta, a case of water, toiletries and cash were stolen from a garage overnight.
June 6
2200 Barton Lane in Montrose, a man reported that he lives out of state but had returned to check on his mother and was told by her friend that he believed someone had stolen his mother’s engagement ring. The only other person in the home on a regular basis was his mother’s caregiver. A wallet had also been left on the counter with an undetermined amount of cash inside. When the man returned home he discovered the cash was missing from his wallet.
The thefts occurred between Feb. 1 and June 6.
