Hot Fun Found at LCWC

What a hot samba night it was on Saturday inside the newly remodeled La Crescenta Woman’s Clubhouse! Casino Carnivale came to town, complete with hurricane cocktails and samba showgirls! Woman’s Club members from all three branches of the club – junior, evening and daytime – played casino games to earn raffle tickets for prizes. Some of the big winners of the evening were Club President Marianne Jennings, who won a week’s vacation at a beach condo, and past president Carol Huntwork who will be taking friends to the Pasadena Pops summer concerts at the LA Arboretum. All types of prizes were given, from Hollywood Bowl tickets to rides on a zipline – you name it, just about everyone went home with a fun surprise from Casino Carnivale! Special thanks are extended to Casino Carnivale co-chairs Daryl Baker Pollock and Maryann Baghdasarian who oversaw the successful fundraiser.

The newly renovated clubhouse was buzzing with fun and games enjoyed by all. Julie Robles from the junior section was so excited when her number came in, winning chips at roulette or craps. The In-N-Out gift basket was in high demand (Cindy Charles won that prize). Club member Jennifer Genens, with her hubby Jon, took home two of the raffle prizes after winning at the tables and collecting treasured tickets. State Senator Anthony Portantino, along with Phil Downs, took on the duties of auctioneer during the evening.
