The 24th Annual “I Love My Neighborhood” poster contest, sponsored by the Glendale Clean and Beautiful Committee, was held in April.

Valley View second grade student Madelyn Montecillo (teacher – Vie Nazarian), fourth grader Alice Kim (teacher – Karla Bringas) and sixth grade student Steven Carris (teacher – Scott MacCreary) were among the 71 finalists honored.

Madelyn and Alice did not make the top 10; however, they were given medals and were recognized during the PPT presentation. In addition, Alice was given an honorable mention certificate.

Steven Carris was awarded the grand prize winner and his poster will grace the front cover of the Thursday folder next year for all Glendale Unified students. Steven has made the top three finalists in the past and had a tree planted in his honor at Valley View in 2015.
