The Crescenta Valley United Softball Association’s 10 and under all-star team placed third at the SoCal USA Western District Championship Tournament in Oxnard the weekend of June 18, which earned them a trip to the USA Softball’s State Championship Tournament the weekend of June 30-July 2.

The team is composed of members Haley Krohn, Alexa Johnson, Ashley Garcia, Perri Derian, Ella De Kruyf, Ryan Amorosi, Anais Ochoa, Chloe Choe, Moriah Mosley, Rebekah DeBoskey and Mila Reddy. The team is coached by Armen Derian, Joseph Johnson, Naveen Reddy and David Krohn.

Opening ceremonies were held at JetHawks Stadium in Lancaster on Friday, June 30 where the team dressed in ’80s attire and joined the other 104 teams from each division on the field.

Crescenta Valley United won two games and lost two games at the state tournament.

Earlier this summer, they placed second in the Ventura Breeze Softball Tournament.
