On July 20, the City of La Cañada Flintridge hosted the July Summer of Love Chamber of Commerce Mixer and Expo. The event took place from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Olberz Park and included refreshments and live music provided by the band Aquarius.
About 100 people attended the event, including the city council, mayor and the city commissioners of La Cañada Flintridge. The Expo provided Chamber members an opportunity to display products and services to businesses and residents of the La Cañada Flintridge community. For example, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. provided important information about the local area.
The Chamber of Commerce conducted its program after the band’s performance ended at 7:30 p.m. The princesses and the queen of the La Cañada royal court helped the Chamber’s program by selling raffle tickets. A portion of the money raised from the sale of the raffle tickets will return to the princesses and queen at the end of the school year in the form of scholarships.
“To be able to celebrate our community in this beautiful park next door to our future city hall is peaceful and the feeling of community is special,” said Chamber member Nalini Lasiewicz. La Cañada Flintridge City Hall is expected to be relocating from its current location to the former Sport Chalet headquarters in late fall 2018.
“It is always a lot of fun when you can bring the community together in a beautiful and relaxed setting,” added Pat Anderson, president and CEO of the LCF Chamber of Commerce.
Crescenta Valley, La Cañada Flintridge and Montrose-Verdugo City chambers of commerce will be co-hosting the next business Expo at the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital on Sept. 13. There will be food and entertainment, a document shredding truck, prizes, and drawings provided.
