Registration for Parent Express (Parenting Your Tweener) Begins

La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Parent Education Program announced a new program coming this fall … Parent Express for Parents of Tweens (fifth through eighth graders). This class, taught by seasoned instructor Paige Dunbar, will provide a month-long opportunity for parents who cannot attend daytime classes to participate in parent ed. Tween classes feature large and small group discussion relating to pre-adolescent issues such as peer relationships, family communication, puberty and school adjustments. Discussion topics will include, “The Tween Brain and Physical Development,” “Creating a Sense of Belonging at Home and School” and “How to Effectively Maintain Boundaries,” to name a few. Classes will run on Oct. 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at LCPC and the rate is $80 for the four-week session.

Registration is now open for Parent Express and all of Parent Ed’s 2017-18 class offerings. Entering its 39th year, Parent Ed offers 15 classes for parents of children 0-18 that provide education, friendship, and sustenance. Classes meet weekly September through May and attract approximately 400 participants from 22 different cities. Classes fill up fast.
