CONGRESSMAN OFFERS CONGRATS

I would like to offer congratulations to the Crescenta Valley Weekly on the first anniversary of your community-based newspaper. Yours is a real family operation that has served the community well with your great reporting and insights on the local issues that matter. I have enjoyed working with all of your staff members, particularly reporter Mary O’Keefe. Mary is a great example of your paper’s family first approach. I recall her enlisting her daughter to help on reporting assignments like the new La Crescenta Library. It is no small feat to start a community newspaper, even in the best of times. The fact that your group of Foothill moms and dads, led by publisher Robin Goldsworthy, has been able to do it and succeed in this difficult economy makes it an even greater accomplishment.
