Sung and Unsung Heroes
Great thanks to firefighters who did a phenomenal job! They are heroes!
I live near the fires. I have huge appreciation for these guys. On Sunday I was in Trader Joe’s. A guy in front, who had on a bright yellow T-shirt that said, “Scientology Volunteer Minister, Something can be done about it,” was buying a large case of water. I asked, “Stocking up?”
He said, “Nope, bringing it to firefighters.”
“That’s wonderful!” I said.
“Yep, over 150 of us up there doing the same thing. Been up there the entire time of the fire. We bring them water and give those with heat prostration and exhaustion assists to help them out.”
I asked, “Do you get paid?”
“Nope,” he said.
“Wow, I have never heard about this in the news. Do you do this other places?”
“Yep, over 450 of us are in Texas helping with the Harvey disaster.”
I said, “Shame on news media for never mentioning this.”
He said, “Yep, but that does not stop us from helping. Got to go now.”
I thanked him profusely and he beamed. I told him I would let people know what they are doing. He thanked me and left. The firefighters certainly are heroes deserving great thanks, but these are the unsung heroes.
So, if you happen to see one of these Volunteer Scientology Ministers in bright yellow T-shirts, do the right thing! Go over and give them your thanks, too. They deserve it.
