Oktoberfest: Contests, Contests, Contests
This Saturday is the big day. Come celebrate Oktoberfest with us! It’s our 40th anniversary, so please come dressed in your lederhosen and dirndl and help create an authentic Bavarian atmosphere. We will have a fantastic photo location right outside the Craft Beer Garden at the Montrose Travel parking lot (just east of Wickham Way) for your social media posts. It is a large Bavarian scene that is big enough for you and all of your friends to commemorate this special event. Also, look for our Montrose, Ca Snapchat filter featuring our town clock. Don’t forget that prices for ride tickets are discounted from noon to 4 p.m. We will have a strolling accordionist during that time as well, adding a special touch to the event.
The main Bavarian stage, sponsored by Glendale Infiniti, is the heart of our Oktoberfest. We have many local kids’ groups performing and lots of authentic German content. All of our fantastic costume contests take place on the Bavarian stage. We start the day with our best-dressed Bavarian dog at 3 p.m. We know how much this town loves dogs, so we hope to see you all there.
Our Lil’ Miss and Master Contest for the little ones is right after at 3:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., our Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest contest takes place followed by the stein-holding contest at 7:30 p.m. Winners of all our contests will receive gift certificates from many of the great businesses in the area. A huge thank you to Bronson Photography, Tom’s Toys, Schreiner’s Fine Sausages, Giuseppe’s, Paradis, That’s Darling and FastFrame Montrose. We also want to thank all of our event sponsors who helped make this event possible: Ace Beverage, Glendale Infiniti, Montrose Travel, Jenkins Properties, Rusnak Motor Group, Golden Road Brewery, Hanger 24 Brewery, Montrose Pet Hospital, Glendale ECC Development, Glenoaks Escrow, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, Crescenta Valley Insurance, John Sparr Tavern, Rossmoyne Construction, Dilbeck – Julie Ann Martin, Giuseppe’s, Coldwell Banker, Glendale Elks Lodge, ReMax Tri-City, Podley Properties, State Farm Chris Aristo, SIG Property Management, J’s Maintenance, NASA Services, Riboli Family, Bronson Photography, Berkshire Hathaway Crest Real Estate, Dilbeck-La Crescenta, U.S. Storage Center, Printefex Glendale and Lyft.
In addition to the main Baviaran stage, we have three other stages full of great entertainment. Our Las Palmas stage is located in the heart of our kids’ zone and will feature entertainment by a local music academy. The Wickham Way stage will feature Bobby and the Gypsies and their Latin music, and starting at 2 p.m. the Market Street stage will feature many different types of music and will finish the night with local favorite Past Action Heroes.
We hope you all enjoy this special day with us and help us celebrate the German history in the Crescenta Valley.
