Thanksgiving Day Run & Food Drive
The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge is holding a run and food drive today, Thanksgiving morning. The run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and the kids’ mile begins at 9:30.
Traffic may be snarled in the area of Memorial Park.
CV Weekly Holiday Schedule
The offices of CV Weekly will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Strategic Partners Network Meeting
The next meeting of the Strategic Partners Network is on Friday, Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, 1812 Verdugo Blvd. (fourth floor council rooms).

White Friday, Small Business Saturday
Friday kicks off the holiday season in Montrose with White Friday. Festivities include carolers, “snow” falling from above, visits with Santa and the lighting of the Christmas tree and shopping park. Festivities begin around 6 p.m. with formal lighting at 7 p.m.
Saturday is Small Business Saturday, an opportunity to support local shops while getting great deals.
Tree Lighting Ceremony Planned
The annual La Crescenta Christmas tree lighting event is on Dec. 5. Festivities for children begin at 5 p.m.; ceremony is at 6:30 p.m.

Steam Degrees Topic Of Lecture
“Versatility of a STEAM Degree: My Path into IP Law” will be presented at Glendale Community College on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 12:30 p.m. in Cimmarusti Science Center room 177 as part of the Science Lecture Series.
The speaker is Narek Zohrabyan, Esq., founder and principal IP attorney of Phil IP Law Group. STEAM refers to a movement in career/technical education and some academia circles to include the Arts in STEM. Many universities are starting to create interdisciplinary majors that incorporate the arts and sciences, where each strengthens the other.
The lecture will cover how students who study science and want to go to law school can get into patent law.
